“A warm welcome”
A beautiful facade to this pub/hotel, inside its comfortable in the process of being upgraded, but this doesn’t cause a problem. The welcome was warm and friendly, we stayed 3 nights the room was one of the refurbished ones large light comfortable, an enormous super king sized bed. A lovely large refitted bathroom. Tea and coffee replenished daily. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and had a lovely meal, with good service and again very accommodating staff. I recommend this Inn so much we’ve already booked again for the same time next year.

“Good nights stay”
We stayed at ‘The Fox Inn’ on Friday 23rd August for a nights stay in preparation for visiting Monkey World.
Check-in was friendly and efficient, the room was very nice and had a certain rustic charm about it. The bathroom was a little small and could do with a bit of an update but that’s me being picky and certainly in no way takes away how good this place is.
We had a lovely meal on the evening, and despite the wrong meal coming out at first the staff were very apologetic and immediately remedied the situation and were very kind in not charging us for that part of the meal.
The big comfy bed led to a fantastic nights sleep.
The breakfast was very good and caters to everyone’s needs, be it toast/cereal or a cooked breakfast if that’s what you prefer. Overall an enjoyable nights stay and would certainly return.
“Charming Inn and friendly Landlords”
We stayed at the Fox on Saturday 17th August for a B&B.
The room was superb, with a most comfortable bed and good bathroom with shower. The water pressure takes a bit to be desired, but all OK.
The breakfast was delicious with selections from a full English to scrambled eggs with bacon or smoked salmon, cereals and fruits.
The landlords were very accommodating and friendly and nothing was any trouble. Will definitely stay there again if the needs must

“Great nights stay”
What a find. Charming inn with amazingly friendly staff, friendly locals and a bed I really didn’t want to get out of it was so comfortable! Breakfast was great and the staff most obliging to our requests (we wanted something a little healthier than the full English).
Great location to stop off if heading to the south coast.

“Great pub for dogs”
We have not been to the Fox for years although we regularly stay in the local area. We had our first date there over 35 years ago when it was a wonderful pub. It was great to walk in be so welcomed by the new owners especially as we were quite late, but that was not a problem for the landlord, who took our order and showed us where to go with our dogs. Food was great, dogs very welcome, we were even shown a good walk for another day. Highly recommend, our 89yr old father went today with another relative and were also very impressed. They will also go there more now, glad to see this lovely pub welcoming again, cant wait to go again at the end of the month. Room Tip: Did not stay but just ate there as we have a house locally

“A real Gem”
We recently stayed at the Fox and were instantly attracted by its charm and location. It is set in the middle of the countryside and wherever you go you find unspoilt villages. The reception we received from all the staff was very warm and friendly,it made you feel at home straight away. The hotel is quite large with several areas to eat in and also a lovely residents lounge where you can chill out.The gardens are beautiful and definitely a place to sit if you want to be peaceful. Our room was really nice with great views from the window, the bed was a kingsize and the room and bathroom were very clean. We eat in the restaurant every night we were there and the food and service were really good.We will definitely be going there again.

“Lovely meal & very friendly staff”
We came across the Fox whilst driving around looking for somewhere to eat. The staff were really nice & the Landlord was extremely friendly. He found time to talk to us & make us feel at home. He was very enthusiastic & obviously has tremendous plans for a lovely place. The food was superb,, nothing was too much trouble. Will certainly return if we are in the area again.
“Brilliant country Inn”
Stayed overnight with my wife and our dog and were immediately made to feel more than welcome. Our accommodation very comfortable with a king-size bed and large on-suite. The new management were extremely warm and friendly and made an enormous fuss of my dog (Harvey) much to his delight. Although the pub is large it has a really ‘homely’ quality with a balanced choice on where to eat both inside and out. The bar was well-stocked, the staff extremely friendly and helpful, and the food excellent. Our stay was overnight Saturday and this gave us the opportunity to sample their Sunday lunchtime Carvery. This was the best we had ever seen with a superb range of both meat and vegetables beautifully prepared. Overall a great place to stay and the overall experience was excellent especially regarding the warmth and friendliness of the staff and particularly the landlord and landlady. Add that to the beautiful Dorset scenery and you have an ideal place to experience a relaxing and tranquil break. We will certainly be returning.

“Lovely old Inn full of character.”
We stayed for an impromptu night at The Fox Inn and it is a charming old inn full of history. The food in the restaurant was lovely and everything that came out we wished we’d ordered when we saw it. Plenty of room and people were eating in the garden’s front and back, the main restaurant, the garden room and the bar, which made for a good atmosphere. There has been a change of management recently, and from what I heard from the locals, much to their relief. There is a good selection of beer, much to my husband’s delight. If you want a relaxing, get away from it all stay, in a nice part of the country, then the Fox Inn at Ansty is your place and all the main towns and attractions of Dorset are just a short drive away. We will definitely be going back.
